Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation Receives Two NEDA Awards

Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) has received two Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA) awards that evidence BDCC’s continued successful implementation of their 2013 CEDS strategy, which was led by BDCC’s Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies (SEVEDS) team and facilitated by the ViTAL Economy Alliance (VE).

The Windham Region Workforce Center of Excellence was named program of the year. It is the successful implementation of CEDS Strategy 4.1, which called for the development of a collaborative workforce center of excellence. It includes four programs developed to provide workforce education and development opportunities for both students and employers; Fast Tracks to Success (High School Regional Career Awareness), The Six College Collaborative, Southern Vermont Young Professionals, and BDCC Industry Roundtable Initiative.

The GS Precision Project was named Project of the Year. It is the result of the successful implementation of CEDS Strategy 1.3, which called for the creation of a regional development capacity for Southeastern Vermont. The goal of the GS Precision Expansion project was to retain the operations of GS Precision in Vermont and to provide development, financial and construction planning and support for their needed expansion. With the completion of their project, GS Precision will have added 100 new positions, 30,000 square feet of new space and $8MM in new equipment.

These NEDA Awards exemplify why BDCC and its SEVEDS team continue to be nationally recognized for their consistent long-term commitment to implementing the detailed measurable S.M.A.R.T. CEDS they adopted in 2013. VE congratulates BDCC and its SEVEDS team on their well-deserved awards from NEDA.
