Knott Speaks on Entrepreneurial Spirit for Pastors
VE Founder Frank Knott designed and served as the keynoter for a program at Saint Meinrad’s Seminary and School of Theology called ‘Thinking Outside the Box: The Pastor and an Entrepreneurial Spirit.’ The day-long program introduced pastors to the world of entrepreneurship, innovation and social enterprise. Pastors participated in an interactive discussion regarding the history of innovation and risk-taking in the church, as well as what constituted the traits of entrepreneurs, especially Christian entrepreneurs. Mr. Knott discussed the top ten traits of entrepreneurial church leaders and explored best practices for fostering climates of innovation in their parishes. He introduced them to the VE Journey as a proven process for sustaining deep and broad stakeholder engagement for a civic or parish community. Knott then facilitated an afternoon panel discussion that explored three real-life parish examples of innovation and transformation and demonstrated how the practices and principles of the VE Journey were put to work in these parishes by three very entrepreneurial pastors.
